Sea Temperature: 15/20
Weather: sunny and warm :)
Max Speed: 29.09 (knots - unless stated otherwise)

Another top night at Peyreic and the wind seems to have gone light:( Mag does exercises while watching the flamingos fly across the orange sky :) After breakfast we head for the supermarket at Sigean and then met Peter and Gill at Port-la-Nouville(nord) that’s the kite spot where the Etang enters the sea about two miles towards Gruissan – a nice place to sail:) Wind all over the place from 15 to 30 mph so rig 6.4 and take out the Zantos to check the conditions and end up using it all day but had to come in after one run to the Nouville lighthouse and then to Gruissan as way underpowered to rig my 7m. Tried this set up and couldn’t get going and even the kiters were giving up!!! Had lunch and tried again, we were trying for some long distance as speed was not an option but just couldn’t get going a lot of the time and it wasn’t for the lack of trying as I finally came off the water at gone six as the sun was setting behind the wind farm:) I did have a few top top runs from Gruissan close to the beach to the van fast in the smooth water crossing over the odd breaking wave just to keep you on your toes!!! Sadly this is probably the worst windsurfing I have ever had down here, with no speedsailing at La Franqui – too windy and bumpy and no decent runs – could be a while before it is worth another visit:( and then today at a 5 star venue we got 1 star wind!!! Still discovered Nouvelle Nord a nice spot – 20/30 kiters out having much more fun than us sad old windsurfers!!!! Mag and Gill had a good day chatting and making friends with a couple of dogs some kiters abandoned when they went out and seemed to like tuc biscuits!!! And then they went for a walk across the Ile Sainte Lucie to the Canal de la Robine :) Peter was desperate for some strange reason to do another 5k so set off really late as the sun was disappearing and headed toward Gruissan!!! Wobbled away and never got planing and was lucky to get back before it got dark – plonker!!! We got back to our Peyraic parking place with young Flamingoes nearby, chucked all my sandy windsurfing gear beside the van, rinsed my wetsuit in the Etang and had a shower with our portable shower bag hanging from a tree in the dark while Mag prepared a top meal of lentils and sausages – those big cans are magic :)
